Partly it was the tinny recording that was to blame, but Ms Garver's attempts at giving each character their own voice ranged from a really aggravating Betty Boop for Goodness to a perpetually slurring Chet with a hair lip. Doubly frustrating was that when the reader narrated any other parts of the story that weren't spoken words of the characters, except for a few spots where she stumbled over a word or two she had quite a pleasant voice. Why or why not? Good narration If this book were a movie would you go see it? Even after listening to and reading many of Debbie Macomber's books, the narration on this one had me struggling to get past the first chapter. Macomber is a wonderful author regardless. She has a few tendencies I don't necessarily like, but it may just be me, so I won't be specific lest it draw your attention to something you otherwise wouldn't mind. I was very disappointed that there was such graphic sexual details in this book. Did Kathy Garver do a good job differentiating all the characters? If that doesn't bother you, then you may like the book. I had listed to her later angelic intervention books which were "clean" and enjoyable. It is a good thing I did not start with this book or I would never had enjoyed her other books in this series that were clean and wholesome. I really enjoyed this book as I do all Debbie Macomber titles. The narrator's attempts at different voices was annoying. It is worth a try if you just want a light read. Perhaps this was one of her initial efforts in recording an audio book so I won't write her off just yet but I'll be a little nervous about purchasing any other audio books with her as narrator. I'd love to see it re-recorded with a different narrator. There didnt seem to be a lot of Angel intervention similar to other books, but I don't know if this was abridged or one of the older books in the series. Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Kathy Garver?
